Microstructure Based Modelling of Strength and Strain in Gradient Nanostructures

主讲人 : Prof. Niels Hansen (Technical Univertsiy of Denmark, Denmark)

In fcc and bcc  ls, the analysis of deformed  ed microstructures reveals that dislocation processes dominate from the macroscale to a limit of 5 nm, which may be reduced further. Deformed  ls may therefore emerge with a strength which approaches the theoretical limit and with hitherto unknown physical and chemical properties.  ed surface structures produced by plastic deformation are graded and have typically high strength and wear resistance.  d on an electron microscopical characterization of structural parameters the stress and strain in such surface structures can be calculated to formulate constitutive equations which can guide research and development of wear resistant surfaces such as in the components of wind turbine gearbox.

主讲人简介:

Prof. Hansen is the Professor in the Materials Science and Advanced Characterization Section, Department of Wind Energy, Technical University ofDenmark, Risø Campus,Denmark. He received his M.S. degree from the Danish Technical University in 1957 and Ph.D. degree from the Technical University of Denmark in 1971.

In early sixty's, Prof. Niels Hansen became the head of the former Material Research Department, Risø National Laboratory, and enjoys a great reputation in the field of Materials Science. He has published more than 400 papers with more than ten thousand citations, and has also authored 2 monographs. For a long time, Prof. Hansen has been committed to the microstructure evolution research of the  l materials’ plastic deformation, and elucidating the dislocation mechanism during the processes of plastic deformation. His research results promote the understanding for the plastic deformation of  l materials and recovery, also the recrystallization. His research results also lay the foundation for the development of new materials and technology.

Due to his outstanding research work, Prof. Hansen has been elected as the member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences, the foreign associate of US National Academy of Engineering, the foreign honorary member of American Academy of Arts and Science, the member of academia Europaea, the editorial board member of Science, and the honorary member of The Japanese Institute of  ls. In addition, Prof. Hansen had received a number of awards, including the Einstein professorship CAS,China, the fellow of the institute of materials,United Kingdom, the honorary member of  llurgical Society of France, Poul Bergsøe  l of Danish  llurgical Society, and Robert Franklin Mehl Award of TMS.
