This lecture presents results of scientific cooperations between polymer technology and high voltage researchers aiming at elaborating new material concepts,  d on polyethylene compounds with added nano-fillers, voltage stabilizers and graphene nanoplatelets. Such materials should be attractive for applications in HVAC and HVDC cable systems, including cable insulation and elements of cable accessories. Several promising stabilizers have been tested and their characteristics are to be presented, confirming that their stabilizing efficiency can directly be related to electron affinity of the molecules. It will also be demonstrated that nanofilled composites provide a remarable reducion of material’s electrical conductivity. Finally, some  important properties of graphene nanoplatelet filled polyethylene composites will be demonstrated.

主讲人简介:

Stanislaw M. Gubanski is a professor leading the division High Voltage Engineering. The goal is to develop reliable, cost efficient, and environmentally friendly components of future transmission and distribution electric power networks  d on high voltage direct current technology, HVDC. Solutions for components of smart grids are also in focus. Stanislaw Gubanski is a Fellow of IEEE and a distinguished member of CIGRE.
