To achieve future carbon neutrality, energy systems are transitioning with high renewable energy penetration. Understanding the energy nexus, which connects energy with other sectors, is crucial due to variable renewable energy pressures and fluctuating energy demand. Energy research must expand beyond traditional boundaries to encompass interdisciplinary and systematic topics. This talk explores future challenges and opportunities in interdisciplinary energy research, including renewable energy system flexibility and the role of digitalization in the energy transition. It emphasizes the importance of time, location, humans, and data in energy transitions. By recognizing these factors, we can navigate the complexities of the evolving energy landscape. This discussion highlights the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to address the multifaceted nature of energy research。

主讲人简介：

欧洲人文与科学院院士、香港工程科学院院士、香港理工大学讲座教授、国际能源期刊Advances in Applied Energy（Elsevier）和Nexus（Cell）创刊主编。Applied Energy顾问主编。1991年获得瑞典皇家理工学院博士学位，2001年受聘为瑞典终身讲座教授。曾任瑞典吕勒奥理工大学能源工程系主任，瑞典皇家理工学院和梅拉达伦大学讲座教授，未来能源中心主任。

从事可再生能源技术与低碳技术、能源系统集成与优化、碳捕集利用与封存和碳贸易、先进发电技术与储能，能源高效利用等领域方面研究。在包括Science，Nature Energy，Nature Climate Change等期刊上发表论文400余篇，论著文集70余部，专利10余项。国际应用能源大会主席。国际创新平台UNiLAB，EnerraXiv，EP，iCET等创始人。英国SUPERGEN新加坡CREATE法国EFICACITY等专家委员会，腾讯CarbonX专家委员会共同主席。世界银行、亚洲开发银行、联合国、欧盟等国际组织专家。曾获得联合国环境发发展署支持的全球人居环境绿色技术奖等，全球SWFF奖最终获提名奖，欧盟Energy Islands’Award，瑞典皇家工程科学院Research2Business Top100.国际绿色能源终身成就奖。
