Applications of synchrotron x-rays and neutrons for engineering materials research

In this talk, I will introduce our integrated computational and experimental research approach focusing on the enhanced understanding and development of  llic and composite structural materials. Advanced materials characterization is key in this approach and the workhorse laboratory scale characterization toolbox is supplemented with the in-situ/-operando and high-throughput capabilities provided by large-scale research infrastructures (LSRI), i.e. synchrotron and neutron facilities. I will provide examples on the use of various in-situ sample environments and analysis methods, applied to mainly steels and hard  ls, at LSRIs.

主讲人简介：

Peter Hedström，教授，博士生导师。2007年博士毕业于瑞典吕勒奥理工大学，2008年加入KTH，2019年任教授，获2020年瑞典皇家工程科学院Chester Carlson奖（全国唯一）。瑞典皇家理工学院（KTH）材料科学与工程系材料性能研究部负责人、瑞典材料科学X射线中心（CeXS）主任，其中CeXS负责运维PETRA III同步辐射光源的瑞典材料科学线站。Peter也是瑞典中子散射研究生院（SwedNess）KTH的负责人。 Peter获2020年瑞典皇家工程科学院Chester Carlson奖（全国唯一）。

其研究方向主要包括材料的组织性能构效关系、变形机制、相变，涵盖钢、硬质合金和复合材料等，涉及先进材料表征技术包括同步辐射 X射线和中子散射技术、人工智能在材料研究中的应用。主持瑞典战略研究基金会重大项目、瑞典创新局重点项目、欧洲创新与技术研究院(EIT)重大项目等，获得经费超1.1亿瑞典克朗，是瑞典、芬兰、欧盟基金评审专家，Ferritico和Scatterin两个公司的联合创始人，发表学术120余篇，总被引数 3500余次，Google Scholar上H-因子35。
